February 8:

Weaving tools and how to use them

There are so many tools available. But how to find out which ones are right for the way we weave?
This month members will bring in their favorites, tell us what makes them useful and will show us how to use them.

What are your favorite weaving tools?
Is there a tool you use that may be new to others?

Bring them in and let us know how they work!

Is there a weaving topic you would like to explore at a meeting?
Let us know!

The Paumanok Weavers Guild meets monthly at the Suffolk County Historical Museum in Riverhead, NY.  Meetings are usually held on the second Saturday of the month unless otherwise noted. Exact dates can be found on the left.

Most meetings begin at 10 am with social time. Coffee and tea are available, along with some sweet treats brought by our members.

At 10:30, there is a brief business meeting. Announcements about weaving events, textiles, etc. may be made by anyone attending. If anyone wishes to ask a weaving question or get advice this is the appropriate forum. We also have a “show and tell”

This is followed by the featured speaker or program.  Afterwards you are free to stay and talk to other weavers, ask questions of the presenter and examine some of the presentation materials if any.

Bring lunch and stay to meet other weavers.
Our Guild library is open, and our books, magazines, videos and sample books are available for members to borrow.
